"What's your Army" Remake

Post by GhostIV on Mon Sep 21, 2009 5:46 pm

Since that last pole was just totally insanely messed up, here's a new fresh one.

Please vote in this pole and, if you want, post why you like this army.

For me, I like the Imperial Guard, to be more specific, I like the Death Korp of Krieg unafraid of death, clone soldiers(supposedley) and based on German Soldiers, I respect them immensely, and if not for the cost of these specific miniature models, I would have an army already.

Not to mention those gas masks look awesome. Razz

well, i like eldar... because i've always liked the techy-elvy races Razz (toss in SC, night elves in WC3, similar races in any other game) and the only reason why i collect eldar is cause i started with DoW, and they were clearly the most techy-elvy race there Razz so i played them, fell in love... and have been completly biased towards them since XD (notice how the eldar tavern has the most heroes? Very Happy)

I started Eldar cause I was able to get some used models cheaply. Not long after I started actually playing them, I really fell in love with them and started collecting more models whenever I could. Sofar I have gathered nearly 2500 points of Eldar forming my army which I lovingly call, The Forsaken

Psh, I have 0k in Necrons, because I am poor. That being said, Necrons are so beastly that they can kill you without even being in existence!

I play chaos, simply cause they are the most versitile army out there. The entirety of it is up to what you wanna make them. Besides, you cant stop chaos, for even if you kill its mortal servents, daemons last forever. As long as their is sentient life in the universe, there will be CHAOS!

Bah, Chaos only exists outside of the Warp thanks to the Necrons.

They were once Sentient, but the Deceiver tricked them into becoming immortal slaves.

Also, Deceiver is one of the weakest C'tan, but also the trickiest.

Pretty sure they left the Lords' minds intact.

Out of the four remaining C'tan, the Deceiver is the weakest. But he's also the smartest. He was the last to go into stasis and the first to come out and has been playing pretty much all the major powers in the galaxy to further his own schemes (such as starting the Gothic War to destroy the Blackstone Fortresses).

Fun fact, if you read "Dawn of the C'tan" it says the Laughing God is the one who convinced the Outsider and Nightbringer to start feeding on the other C'tan, but in the "Necron Codex" it says the Deceiver is the one who planted the thoughts that the other C'tan would be the greatest feasts. So, either the Laughing God is impersonating the Deceiver, the Deceiver is impersonating the Laughing God or they are the same being.

Ya, I think it was the night bringer. Laughing god is the only eldar god I respect personally. It'd be nice to worship laughter in a universe as grim as 40k.

Agreed, a Laughing God is amazing on concept, and especially in that setting.

Also, Nightbringer's the strongest one if I remember correctly. He even ate most of the other C'tan gods (Though Deceiver manipulates him into doing it.).

Both the Nightbringer and Outsider fed on other C'tan, difference is Outsider also ate Eldar dieties and it drove him insane. And the strongest C'tan (assuming all four are at full power, which they aren't) is the Void-Dragon (not just physical strength, but he can make the Necrons under his control near invincible- even more so than usual, I mean). And the Iron Knights of the Eldar aren't around to save the galaxy this time if the Dragon should wake up. Slaanesh actually helping out the C'tan (unwittingly, of course)... but still, irony. Anyway, I never imagined Cegorach's laughter as jovial... more cruel and / or mocking. He was a trickster and was aloof from the Eldar race (thus why he survived Slaanesh's birth).

Right, didn't say the Nightbringer suffered from it. The reason he ate the other ones was because the Deceiver convinced him they would be more delicious than mortals.

Deus, where did you find mention of the Outsider and Void-Dragon? Didn't see anything about either in the codex fluff (not saying I doubt you, just that I don't know where you found that, because I'd be interested in reading that fluff.).

There are one or two litte side box quotes in the Codex about the Outsider, and a small section about the Void-Dragon called "Visions of the Sleeping God". And there's one page in the Codex where some Techpriest went psycho and started raving about the Noctis Labrynth. Also a handful of other fluff books have one-liner mentions. For most of the info on the Void-Dragon, read The Dawn of the C'tan or The Mechanicum. I personally don't like the latter, but it's probably the direction GW will be going with now.

Read the one about the Techpreist, but wasn't really sure what that was all about.

Figured he was talking about the place the Void-Dragon was kept, having heard someone on here say he was on Mars.

Yeah, he was raving about the Noctis Labrynth, the tomb / prison of the Void-Dragon on Mars. Merely entering the Labrynth drives most mortals insane, those who aren't usually fell prey to the Dragon's will. Only afew are strong enough to withstand him, such as the Children of the Dragon.

Nids are no fun, all they do is throw wave after wave of lesser nids. Wheres the strategy in that?

Nightbringer is looking for a feast. The Nids seem to be setting him up with one.

Don't have to be sentient, just alive. He would enjoy it more if they were sentient. But right now he's on the verge of starving, and there are trillions of Nids to feed on.
