New Hero: Lord Ebondrake Empty New Hero: Lord Ebondrake

Post by darthg10 Fri Mar 19, 2010 11:22 pm

Hero Description: Lord Ebondrake is one of the many Daemon Princes that follows the way of chaos. Lord Ebondrake chooses to take the form of a humanoid body with the head and wings of a Dragon. Being the one of the fiercest Daemon Princes, he rules the planet of Drakaasi, a planet in the Eye of Terror dedicated to the worship of Khorne. He has complete and total control of all the other daemons on this world giving him high prestige in the eyes of the Blood God. He is well versed in the conquering of worlds and capture of men to use as slaves and sacrifices to the Khorne.

Stats: Str 25;2.3 per level (base stat)
agi 22;2.0per level
Int 18;1.3 per level

Abilities:

Innate-Experienced Slaver

Taking so many slaves from various different worlds has taught Ebondrake to sometimes deal non-lethal blows, allowing him to enslave units instead of actually killing them.
1. 15% chance to convert enemy unit on death 10%hp
2. 20% chance to convert enemy unit on death 20%hp
3.25 % chance to convert enemy unit on death 30%hp
4. 30% chance to convert enemy unit on death 40%hp
5. 35% chance to convert enemy unit on death 50%hp

Skill 1-Manevolent Beauty (aura)
Although he has taken the form of a fearsome dragon, Ebondrake is a magnificent creature to witness on the battlefield. His mere presence encourages his troops to fight harder, while simultaneously striking fear and dispair into his enemy.
1. allies 5% atk speed, 3%dmg/ Enemies -5% atk speed, -1 armor
2. allies 8% atk speed, 6% dmg/ enemies -8% atk speed, -2 armor
3. allies 11% atk speed, 9% dmg/enemies -11% atk speed, -3 armor
4. allies 14% atk speed, 12% dmg/ enemies -14% atk speed, -4 armor

Skill 2-Soulfire(aoe breath weapon)
Taking the form of a dragon has its perks for Lord Ebondrake, since taking this form he has gained the ability to spew pure black flames from his mouth incinerating and breaking the spirits of those who are caught in the blast.
1. Units caught in blast take 100 dmg and burn 35 mana. 90 mana cost
2. Units caught in blast take 160 dmg and burn 50 mana. 115 mana cost
3. Units caught in blast take 220 dmg and burn 65 mana. 130 mana cost
4. Units caught in blast take 280 dmg and burn 80 mana. 145 mana cost
(all mana burns result in half damage for each mana burnt.)

Skill 3-Ophidian BodyGaurd (Summon)
Being the Ruler of a planet of chaos means that one must have a formidable army. The Ophidian Gaurd are soulless automotons that exist only to serve Ebondrake. They wear tough armor and use poisoned blades to make an enemy helpless before their lord.
1. 1 Ophidian gaurd 24-29 dmg, Fortified armor 2; 605 hp 100 mana cost
2. 1 Ophidian gaurd 29-34dmg, fortified armor 3; 675 hp, Poisoned Blade-10 poison dmg a sec for 5 seconds. 125 mana cost
3. 2 Ophidian gaurd 34-39 dmg, fortified armor 4; 750 hp, Poison blade-12 poison dmg a sec for 5 seconds. 175 mana cost
4. 3 Ophidian gaurd 39-45 dmg, fortifed armor 5; 825 hp, Poison blade- 15 poison dmg a sec for 5 secs. 225 mana cost
(not sure on stats for summons, i wanted to make them formidable but still able to be killed. I don\'t want them to be farmed for gold like the imperial gaurd lol.)

Ultimate Move: Protection of the Dragon
Being a powerful Daemon Prince, Ebondrake has the ability to expertly manipulate the flames he shoots from his mouth. He manipulates them so well in fact that they can dance around his allies without burning them. This gives his allies a barrier of flames between the enemy and his allies. This makes for an offensive defense against the enemy.
1. Gives all allies(including Ebondrake) immolation for 15 dmg a sec, and +3 armor. lasts 30 seconds mana cost of 150
2. Immolation for 20 dmg a sec, and +4 armor. lasts 35 seconds mana cost of 175
3. Immolation for 25 dmg a sec, and +5 armor. lasts 40 seconds mana cost of 200
*I figure this move could work like the necron lords static field except with a duration instead of a continual mana drain.

New Hero: Lord Ebondrake Empty Re: New Hero: Lord Ebondrake

Post by Grass Hopper Fri Mar 19, 2010 11:48 pm

the innate is a neat idea. how much hp do the captured units have when they become captured? cause it cant be current hp, cause they become captured... on death.
think about that, and reduce the %chance at higher levels. by alot.

skill one:
is this basically just a 'ramapge' or 'march of the machines'?

soulfire is a neat farming/aoe damage tool. 160 damage at level 4 is kinda weak.
i would suggest increase the normal numbers slightly, and reducing the bonus from the ult alot. level 16 it would be doing 320 + (180/2) damage... or 410 damage aoe.

summons are way too strong Razz but thats a numbers thing. too much armor for sure. if your giving them fortified armor, drop it to like 1-3 armor.
and increase the lower level damage.

and the ult:
the ias is way to much, and the bonus damage on his nuke is also really high.

overall:
he doesnt seem to fit together very well... all his skills kinda seem thrown together
summon-esque innate, with an actual summmon, but then he has a channeled nuke and a target nuke, and then the dps ult from nowhere.

he wants to be a pusher hero, but the ult just doesnt make a whole lot of sense, and his other skills dont fully mesh either

New Hero: Lord Ebondrake Empty Re: New Hero: Lord Ebondrake

Post by Grass Hopper Sat Mar 20, 2010 12:05 am

gah!
theres no need to repost your entire suggestion Razz just edit your original post.

hmmm, looks much better.
the damage on soulfire might be a bit much now, but eh, its numbers
still too much armor on the summons
and the ult is kinda bland, cause all it does is add hp + nuke damage
possibly make it make him range?

New Hero: Lord Ebondrake Empty Re: New Hero: Lord Ebondrake

Post by Glycine Sat Mar 20, 2010 2:37 pm

I personally loved the original first skill. You could gather up an army of slaves and then use the skill to command your skills to run to an enemy unit and explode, doing damage. The first skill as it is now is a bit overpowered in how many effects it has total, so you'd need to take some effect out.

Innate needs 6 levels.

Fortified armor is ridiculous. Too ridiculous. Either a lowering of the value on Fortified or a change to Medium armor would be better.

Does each immolation stack? xD So if you surround a hero with lots of creeps and use the ult, will there be lots of damage on that hero because of each immolation?

I do have the same concern as Grass, though. You've made a hero that represents the soul of the character well, but his skills don't synergize very well besides the conversion of slaves, his summons, and the ult.

New Hero: Lord Ebondrake Empty Re: New Hero: Lord Ebondrake

Post by darthg10 Sat Mar 20, 2010 2:50 pm

i kind of disagree with his skills not working together well, he is a lane pusher and ive made it to where he can gather up a small army and push a lane as well as power those characters up. As for the stacking, i hadn't thought about that with immolation but i think that a max stack of 3 to 1 unit ratio would be good. So 3 units with 25 immolation around a hero equals 75 dmg a sec for as long as they are stupid enough to stay in the fire. Ill change the armor to medium, i just wanted them to be somewhat damage resistant.Lastly i don't think the aura has to many effects, its really only 3 and not 4 because the atk speed is just the inverse for each side. I also thought that the first skill was a bit too far-fetched and he really would only have a percent chance to use it based on if he converted any creeps, so half the time it would just be sitting there, so i replaced it with an aura.

New Hero: Lord Ebondrake Empty Re: New Hero: Lord Ebondrake

Post by Glycine Sat Mar 20, 2010 2:59 pm

That's still 4 effects, though. If you look at other auras for comparison, KoS only slows MS and AS, Sigi's aura is only for armor, and no character really has a pure command aura. It could work, but we'll see.

The problem with the ult as well is that if you manage to get a large push, you can have a wall of fire that nothing can touch, especially with extra armor. And pushers are relatively hard to balance because if they're left alone for a few minutes, they can easily take down an outpost. Anyways, I'm not supposed to comment on new heroes for the meantime, but it looks good so far. ^^;
