New NeutralCreeps (.46)

Post by Grass Hopper on Sun Feb 07, 2010 1:28 pm

small camps:
x4 Tyranid Hormagaunts (lvl 1 - 350 hp, 0 medium armor; 5-12 normal damage, 1.3 atkcd, melee)
x2 scarab swarms (lvl 1 - 450 hp, -2 armor, 15% evasion; 9 - 24 damage, 1.6 atkcd, melee. scarab swarm skill)
x4 squigs(lvl 1 - 275 hp, 0 medium armor, 15-19 normal damage, 1 atkcd, melee)
X3 nurglings(lvl 2 - 300 hp, 1 medium armor, 17-20 damage, 1.6 atkcd, melee. 10 dps perma imo, -10% ms/ias aura)

medium camps:
x2 scarab swarms + x3 necron warrios(lvl 3 - 850 hp, 5 large armor; 25 - 30 chaos damage, 1.6 atkcd, 500 range)
x6 hormagaunts + x1 zoantrhope(or other synaps creature... but i have a zoey model)(lvl 4 - 800 hp, 2 medium armor; 30-37 spells damage, 1.4 atkcd, 500 range. unholy aura skill (+12%ms, +5regen))
x3 chaos horrors (lvl 3 - 600 hp, 2 medium armor; 25-31 damage, 1.25 atkcd, 400 range, 100 aoe. 30 damage perma immo, split)
-> blue horror (lvl 1, 300 hp, 1 medium armor, 13-15 damage, 1.25 atkcd, 400 range, 100 aoe)
3x Chaos Bloodletters (lvl4 - 650 hp, 3 large armor, 23-29 damage, 1.3 atkcd, melee. 50%lifesteal, 25%crit for 1.7)

hard camps
x5 hormagaunts + x1 zoey + x1 carnifex (lvl 8 - 2565 hp, 8 large armor; 91-132 chaos damage, 1.7 atkcd, melee. thorns aura ability, cleaving attack)
x6 squigs + x1 squiggoth(lvl 8 - 3120 hp, 8 large armor; 115-167 chaos damage, 2.1 atkcd, melee. war stomp abilty, command aura ability)

also taking suggestions. i dont really want chaos marines, or tau etc as neutrals... (but chaos deamons would work hmmm >.>) nothing that would be employed by a race as troops (necrons and nids are an exeption cause ... well they can just be wandering i guess, they are more neutraly than the others)

By the way, is there any way to make some of these creeps more difficult and maybe yield a little more gold.

I'm not saying enough so that farming them is better than killing heroes, but enough so it isn't a total waste of time.

Also, Lizards being the hardest creeps atm is kinda dumb IMO. Even that level 25 thing is ridiculously easy to kill.

lizards are (still) only a place holder XD

and there will be easy medium and hard camps created (notice the squigs are alot weaker than the necron wariors, which are weaker than the carnifex)

easy camps are easy to kill (duh) and dont give as much exp or gold as the medium camps, which are harder but not really tough, and the hard camps give a bunch of gold (about a hero kills worth) but are really hard to kill

and i might or might not make a 'boss' creep to kill (aka: roshan-esque)

Right, I realize this. My problem is that level 6 lizard camps are harder than the Carnifex and Squiggoth, which are supposed to be harder level creeps.

Granted, when I was hunting them, I was playing Runt herder, who generally has an easy time with creeps, but they seemed ridiculously easy, especially the Squiggoth.

For one, each creep will have to be re-evaluated on the new damage and armor chart, but that's a quick fix. Also, perhaps we could put more creep spawns in the map to make it more appealing to neutral creep? It would also facilitate -nc mode.

During -nc mode, could we double/triple the gold and attach a modifier to experience bonuses as the game goes on. That's the main problem with -nc right now.

People can't get to 6 quickly enough to go out and gank the other team.

there are how many creep spots per team alraedy? 7?

and doesnt it make more sense for the exp/gold modifier to be more early game?

I was more thinking as a boss unit would be something like some sick barstard found Horus' remains and stiched it back up, threw it into the warp, and let it back out. That would be fun to fight.

Hmmm....

I do agree that Necrons/Tyranids make the best neutral creeps. Could maybe throw in Feral Orks too if you want some variety. Probably the best setup for the creeps would be having the easy creeps slightly easier to kill than your lane creeps. It'd open them up for fighting around level 4ish so people don't just go right after the creeps, then making medium creeps a bit tougher than typical lane creeps, making it so that you'd probably need to be around 12+ to farm them, and then making the Hard creeps sufficiently more difficult to kill, being more useful late game for some quick gold farming.

Also, on hiveworkshop I found a little "nergling" model that was pretty awesome. You could probably find it via search. Might be neat for a lower level creep.

yeah that sounds about right for difficulty.
altho some easy camps should be managable from level 2+ for the option of jungling

Eh... When you've got "Five" lanes, you probably don't want people to start jungling right off that bat. You'd want them to at least lane it up a bit.

yeah, thats true. but a single hero can cover two lanes without a ton of difficulty, and they dont *have* to jungle from level 2 >.> it should just be an option

Re: New NeutralCreeps (.46)

Hmm... I guess so. I know that you are adding a lot of game modes, or trying to, so, its possible that you should consider scaling the creeps or replacing some depending on the game mode.

So, on such a thing as the Tyranid swarm mode, you might want to replace all the creeps with higher level "synapse" creeps that could take more than one hero at times to kill, which would then yield a bonus in defenses and such, and then respawn again later. Might add a little flavor to the mode. Actually, now that I think about it, that might not be a bad idea. =\

Or we could make the neutral creeps roam Razz and I'm against any of the races that the heroes are to be used as creeps. Anyway, roaming creeps would make things fun and annoying for some.
