At the moment I don't have any current stats or spell damage number's or calculations, but I just thought about posting this hero concept out and let the community and/or maker mold him into an average hero.

Sarpedon - Soul Drinker Librarian-Chapter Master

[Story] The current Soul Drinker Chapter Master is a powerful Librarian by the name of Sarpedon. He can telepathically send but not receive thoughts as well as being able to generate a mass illusion called The Hell, which feeds off the fears of his enemies. His mutation provides him with eight arachnid limbs (allowing him to scuttle along ceilings and walls), incredible physical strength and enormous psychic power. The Chapter's name derives from a mutation in their Omophagea. Normally this organ allows a Marine to absorb some of the memories of a creature by consuming its flesh. Soul Drinkers ritualise this in the "Ceremony of the Chalice". In addition to this, the Soul Drinkers also experience the creature's emotions and memories. Philosophically speaking they "see into the creature's soul".

[With a little model editing someone could merge spider legs onto Sarpedons waist and remove his legs.]

Strength - 20 + 1.5
Agility - 15 + 1
Intelligence - 24 + 2

Range: Ranged Movespeed: 300


Innate - Ceremony of the Chalice - Sarpedon consumes 3/4/5/6/7/8 corpses near him giving him the ability to find the weak spots in enemies mental armor allowing him to combust their minds on each attack (Mana Burn) dealing U/V/W/X/Y/Z for the duration of 3/4/5/6/7/8 seconds.


Psy-Grasp - Sarpedon launches his mind into the target making it lose focus of reality and slowing it by S%/T%/U%/V% for W/X/Y/Z seconds.


Cold and Fast, Soul Drinkers! - Sarpedon roars out his chapter's battle cry, boosting his morale and restoring his Psy-Power (Mana) for each allied unit in his vicinity. O/P/Q/R for each unit and S/T/U/V for each hero, within W/X/Y/Z of Sarpedon.


Arachnid Sprint - Sarpedon charges foward on his 8 arachnid legs (1 being mechanical) for a distance of W/X/Y/Z to either charge into battle or strategically retreat. If Sarpedon ends up in an area with hostile units he blasts units around him with a Psy-Nova, that deals a total of S/T/U/V damage to all targets. (Does not deal damage to each unit, but deals a percentage of the total amount of damage to all units in Sarpedons vicinity.)


Ultimate - The Hell - Sarpedon unleashes The Hell in an Target-AoE which causes no direct damage but may cause 1 of 3 different effects to each unit in the Area of Influence. Stun - Stuns normal units for 2/3/4 and Heroes for 1/2/3 seconds, Paranoia - Confuses the unit into believing he has creatures crawling over his skin which he literally tears off his body, causing X/Y/Z amount of damage over a period of U/V/W seconds, or Fear Frenzy - The unit believes he is surrounded by enemies and starts to attack anything near him for 3/4/5 seconds.

innate- maybe no corpse consume and just peers into the mind of enemies allowing him to expose mental weakness doing 20/25/30/35/40 mana burn for 3/6/9/12/15 seconds
psy-grasp- have it do some damage like 50/75/100/125 a second and slows by
10/15/20/25% for 2/3/4/5 seconds
Cold and fast- aybe have it give a lil bonus too like 5/10/15/20% damage and then
35/40/45/50 mana per allied unit and 50/75/100/125 per allied hero
Arachnid- charges towads targetted point/unit in a 500/550/600/650 range at 25/30/35/40% more movement speed if you target an enemy unit when he reaches the unit he will unleash a psychich blast doing 150/200/250/300 dmage in a 450 aoe (stick with jsut normal damage because in my understanding its near impossible to predict how many units will be in the vicinity so you could nvr rly get 100% of the damage dealt)
The Hell- un leashes the hell in a 600/700/800 aoe doing 1 of 3 effects
stun- works
paranoia- does 200/300/400 damage in 8/6/4 seconds
fear frenzy- works

i didnt expect it either but sould drinkers are my fav no heretic chapter so if he didnt do it i prolly would of im actually debating on going through my soul drinkers books and finiding more special characters haha. Like i said they are jsut my fave non heretic chapter. so i would really like to see him get implemented and soon *hint**hint* to every1 out there who helps with hero ideas lol and grass Razz

and for stats maybe ummm
str- 20 + 2.2
agi- 16 + 1.6
int- 24 + 2.8 (primary)
ms- 325 (or a fairly high but still balanced number in light of his 8 legs)

int as highest obv cause he wants him to be int and i agree cause sarpedon is an incredibly powerful psyker. Str is second highest because his chaotic mutations give him more toughness and ability to withstand more dmg (more hp)
then agi as lowest although he does have 8 legs i see it as a less important stat due to his history

I was thinking that for his charge, that it should be more involved with his 8 legs apart from the running. Say, Sarpedon runs in and all his legs flail about when he reaches the target point. Perhaps the legs should be imbued with psychic energy that deals damage and maims...

or, if he uses it to initiate with the enemy, he charges forward in a nova of psy energy? dealing damage to units he passes through, possibly knocking them back. (happens when targetting an area with enemies in it)

yeah u could have it do a slight knockback liek hes kind of releasing energy to damage units and push them out of the way maybe like a shockwave liek effect where it kinda tosses em outta the way

Anyone want to suggest numbers for his skills? His stats also need to be raised.

Are there any main problems someone sees with his skillset? He might be a little bland, especially with the first skill.

I think that the arachnid sprint's general concept of doing damage with a psy-nova is great, I would just like to suggest dropping the percentile damage to units around him, making the damage do a certain amount to creeps around him and maybe slightly more to heroes that way the move can be used effectively to rush a hero in a crowd of enemies. This will also make it to where if the hero is by himself when rushed the full 100 percent doesn't fully crush his chest in. I also would like to comment about him being a "bland" character, I find that at least for myself, the addition of a customized skin as well as really well done spell abilities is enough to almost make any character cool and fun to play. Most people are more attracted to shiny things than a "good" character lol.

Ok, a few improvements.

Increase the duration for which he has mana burn. Is it 1 mana burn per damage done?

Psy-grasp should probably do damage.

The Hell should be one massive illusion that the target can't even recognize. For example, creating the illusion of an incoming creep wave and erasing the presence of his own, essentially luring the target into a trap. Or it could even be simpler than that. An invis that enables the casting of spells and attacks for allies could serve as a very offensive minded ult, while the opposite can be found in creation of a large force of illusions which hit just as hard as their original copies.
