Zoanthrope Play Style
I'm making this because I don't see a whole lot of people who play Zoanthrope that know what they're doing.
I like to max out Warp Blast and Psychic Scream first and foremost, for obvious reasons. Unless I'm laning against an int hero, in which case I'll put 2-3 points into Shadows of the Warp.
When fighting creeps, a few Blasts will decimate the waves that come at your forces. Keep an eye out behind and to the side of you though, for possible ambushes or ganks.
Against heroes, a good way to kill melee fighters is to rush really close. Trigger your innate, because you'll probably take a few hits from both creeps, as well as an either stupid or confident hero. After that, use Scream, and IMMEDIATELY put down a Blast behind the hero to knock him forward. Attack him regularly while he's recovering. Mop up with Catalyst, which, combined with Scream and Blast, should do tremendous damage. Your more resilient heroes will still have some health left, just chase and Blast accordingly.
For ranged heroes, the best bet is to push forward to the lines of creeps, and let them hit you a little. The next part is tricky. You need to bait them into getting past the line of creeps, then trigger innate, and follow through with the regular strategy. Having a bottle of Bio-Regeneration is a good idea for when you're just about to turn around to kick the enemy's ass. After your little wave of spells, hit the bottle to discourage any more potential harm and/or possible death from a cunning player.
Of course, this strategy is completely open to changes, suggestions, and ideas.

Re: Zoanthrope Play Style
btw, just thought id post this here
including the 6% amplification from scream, his combo does:
(300 + 420 + 190)*1.06 = 964.3 at level 16, then include the bonus damage from creeps

hence the nerf

Re: Zoanthrope Play Style
Quick anti-Zoe strategy:
Iron Halo + Armor. Both reduce the damage of that whole combo, especially the Iron Halo.
Zoe does not like Iron Halos...
On top of that, certain heroes do really well against him. Especially ranged DPS heroes, heroes with stuns, or with silences like Lib.

Re: Zoanthrope Play Style
The Iron Halo is another reason I think some intel heroes should have their spell damage scale with intelligence.
A good tank with that can make most of the damage based casters useless, especially aoe nukers like the zoa.

Re: Zoanthrope Play Style
True, but one iron Halo brings that down to 6%, and two brings it down to -19% (AKA 19% resist.).
That being said, making some int heroes, like Zoe, have their spells scale would make them rape, since Zoe is already pretty consistently raping throughout the game.
A better idea would be to not make Iron Halos stack (Not that many people get them), and to only make the chars that need spells to scale (Sanctioned Psycher!) to scale.
Chars like Zoe, Path, Farseer to a certain extent, LoC to a certain extent, Doc and Lib don't need spells to get better to be effective. I mean, an item that makes them more effective wouldn't be too bad, but you can't give them this 'scales with int' buff.
(On a side note, I think Farseer's ulti has been causing lag.)

Re: Zoanthrope Play Style
I agree; if all the caster's damage based spells scaled with int, some would definitely need to be made less powerful.
I'd still like to see it for the spells that deal almost no damage late game (level 16 to 25) . When someone has 3000+hp and 30 regen per second, 300 damage amounts to almost nothing at all.
Yep, Farseer's ulti has caused lag for me too.

Re: Zoanthrope Play Style
thats wierd, cause i haven changed that in forever... and iron halos dont stack
and alot of the heroes dont need their spell damage to be increased late game, cause there powerful enough already from either much in spamming, or other effects...
however, this discussion belongs in balance/bugs
