Hypocritcal Mutants
"Burn the heretic! Kill the mutant! Purge the unclean!"
Is it just me or is the Imperium kind of hypocritcal when it comes to this? There are several Chapters that feature mutations to the geneseed (Soul Drinkers, Blood Angels, et cetera). Even beyond that most of the Primarchs suffered from severe mutations, mostly acquired from their different homeworlds or their travel through the Warp. For example Sanguinius- the dude had wings, or Mortarion- he could ingest toxic fumes / liquids, and actually enjoyed them. So... They're talking about killing these things, when they ARE these things. Alittle self-loathing perhaps.

Re: Hypocritcal Mutants
Well, of course they're hypocrites. I congratulate DoW on how well it portray that in fact.
They really just serve their own interests in the name of the Emperor.

Re: Hypocritcal Mutants
What it probably should be is "Burn the heretic, kill the mutant, purge the unclean, that doesn't serve us!
Re: Hypocritcal Mutants
I believe that's why they call the government of the year 40000 a "Hellish bureacracy(probably spelled that wrong)". But, from what I understand, they have to kill the mutant, lest the human race become destroyed.
Transcription of suppressed texts, from the archives of the Gethsemene Reclusium wrote:Know this adept, for your journey has been long and you are to be trusted as few will ever be. Psykers represent Humanity's future, the ideal creature into which mankind will evolve; a more powerful, more intelligent and more capable life form. As yet this race is weak, its members lacking the mental strength needed to face the dangers of the psychic universe. Were the new race of psykers permitted to develop free and unprotected, the whole of Humanity would soon be destroyed. We few who are privy to this truth have guarded it selflessly for nigh on four millennia, since the end of the great schism from which our order was born. It is our sole concern, for the very future of our race depends upon us, and us alone
