Sigismund: Emperor's Champion Empty Sigismund: Emperor's Champion

Post by GhostIV on Fri Sep 18, 2009 12:47 pm

"Sigismund, First Company Captain of the Imperial Fists, was chosen, on the eve of the Battle for Terra, to become the Emperor's chosen champion. A legendary warrior in his own right, he was given the greatest armour and arms available, donning the legendary Armour of Faith and grasping the first Black Sword. He went forward to challenge the traitorous leaders to single combat, and triumphed over all he met in battle. One of the mightiest warriors of the age, after the heresy, when the legions were divided into chapters, he went forth to command the Black Templars as their first High Marshall. "

Stats:

->Strength: 22 + 2.5
Agility: 20 + 2
Intelligence: 19 + 1.5

MS: 305
range: melee

Skill 1: Armour of Faith(innate, passive):
"The Armour of Faith is a Power armour crafted by the most skilled Techpriests, anointed with holy oils by servitors and with catechisms of hate written on it to protect it's wearer from any harm that may prevent him from fulfilling his duty. " 10/15/20/25/3015/18/21/24/27/30% chance to become invincible for 2 seconds
CD: 20/25/30/35/4020/18/16/14/12/10

Skill 2: Furious Charge(active):
"His hate for the enemies of the imperium has no boundaries, plowing through the enemy like a knife through paperbutter." Charges straight into the enemy for 300/400/500/600 range, stunning units all enemies hit for .65/1/1.25/1.5s.5/.75./1/1.25 seconds, knocking them away slightly, and dealing 40/80/120/160 damage to all enemies hit, but also damaging the champion for 75/50/2550/40/30/20% of damage done.
Mana:100 CD: 30/25/20/15

Skill 3: The Black Sword(toggle):
"Sigismund grasps his sword in 2 hands, making each swing much stronger, but leaving him more open to attacks." Increases attack damage by 10/20/30/40%, but decreases armour by 2/4/6/8.

Skill 4: Fear Incarnate(passive):
"An imposing figure on the battlefield, the Emperor's Champion puts fear into even the most hardened of veterans." Decreases the armour of the enemy nearby enemies by 2/3/4/5 and has a 17% chance to root an enemy on hit for 1.5/2.25/3/3.75 1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds.

Skill 5:Champion's Challenge[Ultimate]:
"The Emperor's Champion sends forth a mighty challenge to his enemy, forcing him to respond by attacking him with his futile attempts at resistance." Forces selected enemy to attack him for 4/5/6 seconds. First next attack on enemy the target does 100/200/300 damage, with giving the champion getting getting a 20/30/40% increase to attack speed until effect is done.
Mana Cost:200; CD: 100/80/60; Range: 300/400/500

Here's the Emperor's Champion with all 5 of his abilities, tell me what you think.

Edit: Added cooldowns and Mana costs, also changed the effect of 'Emperor's Fury' to include both attack speed and movement. Also changed the story to be more specific.

Edit2: Made some more changes based upon feedback. Exchanged Emperor's Fury for Furious Charge, increased damage increase on Black Sword, and changed the ult into first attack a crit, then increased attack speed.

Edit3: Cleaned up all the edits, made it look nice, made some minor finishing touches.

Grass: ive added some comments, gone OCD on your format, and given some suggestions for number changes... look it over, change what u like, toss what u dont. it is your hero afterall Sigismund: Emperor's Champion Icon_razz just keep what ive said in mind.

Sigismund: Emperor's Champion Empty Re: Sigismund: Emperor's Champion

Post by Glycine on Fri Sep 18, 2009 3:11 pm

Hum.

Things I noticed:

Give the innate a scale. 1/2/4/6/8/10% might work?

Black Sword decreases armor by 10% for all levels or does it need a scale as well?

Fear Incarnate needs a really really low chance to proc. 6 second stun and -8 armor crash is really, really good on a melee hero.

Ult is very nice, though.

Everything looks really, really good. He needs Stats, so he'll probably be a str based hero. He also needs movespeed (Moderate amount).

There, as with all new heroes,will inevitably be balance issues in the versions to come, but that's ok. 65% extra attack during the ult could be a little much, but hey, that's why we play test. Very Happy

I'm hoping he'll grass will put him in next version. I think he's a great build in my opinion. Arthas would actually make a great placeholder.

Anyway, I like your suggestions and appreciate your criticism.

Sounds good

Black Sword decreases armor by 10% for all levels or does it need a scale as well?

Nah, I felt that if it decreased armour by 40% at level 4, that would be too much.

Fear Incarnate needs a really really low chance to proc. 6 second stun and -8 armor crash is really, really good on a melee hero.

I was planning on 5% with each level with maybe a cooldown.

Ult is very nice, though.

Glad you like it

Will do.

Thanks for moving it, and I read your advice. Decided to get rid of Emperor's Fury completely and I replaces it will Furious Charge, which basically plows through enemies, stunning them and damaging them, but also damaging me. Also, changed the effect on the ultimate. Tell me what you think. Very Happy

I think voting on the next hero to get in is a great idea. Maybe it'll even get more people on these forums...

And ehhh, Ghost, don't feel bad if it takes a while... There are a lot of heroes lined up and not enough people to code them.

Haha, I understand that. The problem is, that's impossible, since a hero's perfection is based on how balanced they are compared to other heroes, meaning that until every hero is completely balanced 100% (pretty much impossible), no hero can be perfect.

That being said, just saw the changes you made:

-Does Furious Charge stun? The reason I ask is because it seems weak damage-wise, and you take damage for it (how much btw), so I was wondering if there's an effect on it.

-1st attack Crit'ing can work, but that crit is way too high. 4x crit late game means that he can do easily over 1k in one hit, then they still can't run and he has increased attack speed to finish them. Seems like an auto-kill move to me.

Yes it does stun, just forgot to add how long it stuns. Also, not sure how much he should get damaged, any suggestions?

Ya, your right. Does 3x work? or should I do even lower? Also, I added a range, because I forgot to mention that the timer starts after the enemy in question begins to move towards you.

Hmm.

Keep the high crit, but here are a few things that you can do.

- Lower the duration of the skill
- Reduce the attack speed bonus or eliminate it completely
- Allow them to be able to cast spells and such so casters with low health don't always die to challenge.
