k, say you have a 100 strength with a maxed out innate. The max the stats given from death can reach is 130. This is why I don't see why gly suggested it. If you are dieing that much, you suck anyway.

and no that wouldnt work, cause the cap of .8 at level one means that if he has 100 str, he would gain a max of 80 str from the innate

again i know its late but just FYI: Carnifexes are the strongest Tyranid unit as of 5th edition and yes Hive Tyrants are supposed to be more intelligent.

Put a cd on counter and got rid of the limit on the innate. I don't see need for it, cause if your dieing enough to make it imba for you, your either already going to lose or your being idiotic. Or your in a position to win already that you dieing shitloads doesn't matter.

Oh, also, do you think I should up the percentages on paroxysm? Cause what made the old one good was that at the end your hitting 40%, now its maxing at 20% in half the time.

If the total limit on strength is 130 and the Swarmlord has 100 strength, he can only gain 30 strength from deaths. I'm not quite sure you two understand the gravity of permanent stats from death, though.
Say Swarmlord, at level 25, decides to go on a stat run. I mean, nothing's going to stop him from dying if he pods into the other spawn point. If he manages to do this every minute for 10 or so minutes, he gains 70 strength, 60 intelligence, and 30 Armor. From that point on, he doesn't ever need to die because HE WON'T. The game could be quite well matched at that point, but when Swarmlord starts breaking the game with his epic 50 armor and extra 2k health, he could very well equip a mana shield and run around with 8k+ total health.Even in base defense, Swarmlord has the potential to gain lots and lots of stats, especially armor.
That's why there needs to be a limit on it, so a player who starts dying early won't have a huge advantage over the others in mid and late game.

ok, i see your point gly, but then the limit has to *start* over 1, cause having a total stat limit of .8 your current stats means that he can gain at max -20 str from the innate with 100 str.
and suiciding 10 times into the enemy base takes a full 10 minutes where you are:
not doing *anything* for your team but wasting their drop pod cooldown
losing gold
giving the enemy gold and exp
it is possible, but i dont think its as game breaking as you might think, considering the tyrant will be useless for a good portion of the game, making his enemies team better
but yes, im ok with a cap, and the end numbers seem mostly ok, possibly up them a bit, like 1.5 or something at max level

Blah. And a cooldown on it is unnecessary on something that has a cap that can only be exploited by you having to be retarded.

i intend the cooldown only as something to show to players that there is no use spam dying simply for the bonuses, put say a 120 second cooldown on it, nothing that should ever realistically stop you from gaining stats if you actually die, but ensuring that you cant spam die

Mm, sounds ok. But is there a way to make the cooldown only start when they revive? Cause it'll be half way done by the time they normally revive at high levels.
