Rosarius Amulet?
A Rosarius is an amulet worn by officials of the Ecclesiarchy for both protection and as sign of office. The Rosarius takes the form of an amulet, often displaying the Imperial Eagle or an ornate cross. It is actually an advanced device, containing a tiny conversion field generator, which emits a protective energy field around the wearer. The field's effect is to convert the energy of an impact into light. When the field stops a shot, a blinding flash of light is produced. The field is capable rendering even plasma gun shots harmless. The rosarius is often referred to as the soul's armour.
A damage stopper/tossback/other. Open suggestions on what it does, and what you need to get it. This is basically an anti-carry item. Would be smart to be banned from some heroes.

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
A rosarius is an item that generally stops or soaks up damage. So, I would assume it could soak up like a couple attacks here and there before going to a cooldown. Maybe like a short invulnerability like 5 seconds or something just as a crutch in case you're getting hammered on, but not enough to allow you to totally butcher someone.
Or it could just add armor and a bit of health. =\

I was more thinking of whenever the user was attacked, the item discharges 25% damage in an aoe. (% factor is debatable) It would add a lot more than just armour and health

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
Hmm. Numbers need to be worked on, but how can you reconcile this with the Chaplain's current Rosarius? You really want to give him two?
I recall, a very long time ago, when we were discussing item choices, that we don't want to give out items that are too character/class specific. I mean, can everyone really use the black staff of Ahriman? We bend the rules for some items, but I don't know if this'll fly considering the effect you want to give it and the power of the item itself.
Just my two cents, don't let them dissuade you from making the item you want.

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
Rosarius are available to nearly all space marines, whereas the Black staff of arhiman is a one-off.

I'm pretty sure the Rosarius is only available to Chaplains... I could be mistaken, but that's what makes them special among other things.

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
Indeed, but read my first post about banning certain heroes from this item

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
I've read books and such where there are defensive devices such as the Rosarius worn by people other than the chaplains. People such as ecclesiarchs and Inquisitors often have similar items. Whether or not they are a true rosarius, I do not know.

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
Maybe for some stats you could: Gives 10 str/agi/int (depending on what the hero is). Gives 3 armor, 200 hp, and the ability of Soul Shield. Soul Shield prevents str/agi/int x2 in damage (depending on what the hero is), and heals 10% of all damage done by spells, for 5 seconds. Also causes the attacker to miss their next attack versus the wearer within 5 second. Activates after a spell is cast on the wearer or they take 400 damage within 2 seconds. Lasts 6 seconds or until shield is destroyed. 30 second cooldown.
Another % deflected is going to be lame. Two of them is going to be too many... especially if this isn't an armor piece. There should be a item that absorbs normal and spell damage instead of just spell. Numbers can be changed but as Glycine said, just my two cents.

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
The rosarius flash is a permanent effect, thats why the damage should be small scale. Im unsure whether the amulet can cut out or anything. This IS an armour piece of a kind.

blood:
"I was more thinking of whenever the user was attacked, the item discharges 25% damage in an aoe. "
this is what the refractor field currently does.
look into making an upgrade for that.
as to the comment that we dont want to give hero skills as items, that is true.
also, the remade chaplain doesnt have a 'rosarius' skill any more
and only chaplains get rosariuses, similar devices are worn by other people. but only chaplains get rosarius...es...

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
Then refractor field can be used in the recepie. Also saying that only chaplains can have it is total bullshit, we have; (just to name a few) Terminator Armour, Witchblades, and other race relevent and commander relevent items. When was the last time you saw a Harlequin wearing Terminator Armour?? Exactly my point...

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
yes, that wasnt the main counter-point XD
but still, *only* chaplains get them in TT, but more than one very specific unit can get things like witchblades and termi armor.
its not a stong point but it still stands

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
Uhm. Not to be contradictory, but Rosarii are present in other codices, you know. It is possible to get them, whether you're a chaplain or a commissar or a grey knight. (As I last recall, that is)

Re: Rosarius Amulet?
It does make sense that Inquisition would have access to a diverse armoury.
