ok so, i was thinking about items... and i need help comming up with ideas....
should i go the +3/+6/+10 stat items route? and +1/+2 to all stats... etc
basically i really cant think of how to start with the items... what should i do? Very Happy

i wanan keep my tired item system... basically i want it to non item dependant enough so that u dont need a full inventory to be good...
so i might have alot more lower tier items...
like consumables and accessories... but then keep the tired items, but make them (maby) more powerful and more expensive, so maxing an item tier takes long, but is mostly worth it...

If you want to increase the cost and increase the power of your items why would you not just add more tiers. For example in the agility (eldar armours) I think you have missed guardian armour. Therefore you could rename aspect to guardian and exarch to aspect. You could then make a new exarch armour that would be more powerful and, because of the length you have to go to make it, more expensive.

Other examples:
Bosspole -> WAAGH Banner
Lightning Shield (which dex is this from) -> Storm Shield
Scout Armour -> Power Armour -> Artificier Armour (perhaps there could be an alternate route which has Power Armour -> Terminator armour for more strength or the DS ability confered by wings)
'Uge Chopper -> Power Klaw (for more str and improved orb but perhaps reduced AS) -> Da Vulcha's Klaws (Normal AS again even more str)
Cybork Body (increase regen)
'Eavy Armour -> Mega Armour (+ Cybork Body) -> Goldtoof Armour

btw I like the "tired" item system you have in place

me too Very Happy and i was planing on adding phoenix lord armor... and terminator armor... i just havent goten around to doing them... (i want them to have special abilities... like armor of ulthamar... (manashield))
i might have meant storm shield wheen i said lightning shield XD i didnt have the marine dex then...

i was also planning on making a powerfist => thunder hammer item... which adds epic str, dmg, but slows attack speed...

and ya, never thought of waaagh banner...

if u could come up with some stats for the items your tossing out here that would be great Very Happy

so i came up with some basic stat items today:
mechanical augmentation(+3 str)(can be combined with narthecium to make bionics)
boss pole (+6 str) (potential waaagh banner... is also used in 'eavy choppa)
bionic limbs(+10 str) (can be combined with bionics and power weapon to make a power fist)

sensor aray(+3 agi) (might be a component for auspex)
annointed oils (+6 agi) (used in ravons talons)
biologiacl stimulas(+10 agi) (can be combined with a combat drugs item (+atkspeed) to make a stim pack (mask of mandess from dota))

runes of warding (+3 int)
runes of witnessing (+6 int) (can combine with RoWarding and a waystone(mana regen) to make a spirit stone (+int and +mana regen))
(need a +10 int item)

purity seals (+1 all stats)
holy symbol (+3 all stats) (possibly combine with some items to make a sacred relic(dunno what that would do))

i like your ideas tho

waaagh banner could be a bosspole with +10 str and roar ability or a damage aura

'Eavy Armour could be +200 hp's and +5 str
Mega Armour ('Eavy Armour + the existing item with +3 str and +1 regen) could be +300 hp's and +10 str and +3 hps regen

Cybork Body (upgrade of that item used in mega armour) could be +3 hps regen and % chance to block 20 damage
GoldToof Armour (Mega Armour + Cybork Body) could be + 400 hp's, + 15 str,+ 8hps regen and % chance to block 40 damage

This item would have be pretty costly because at this point it would be stronger then all existing armours

i would like the high end armors to have some sort of active ability (ex=> armor of ulthamar's manashield, and the phoenix lord armor is gona have an 'eternal warriors' ability)

+ 350 hp's, + 10 str,+ 8hps regen
and Orkish Frenzy: gives +20 str, +20 AS, +20 Damage and you take 20 hps in damage

also if u need ideas for other wepons u could use like las pistol->las gun->hellgun also bolt pistol->heavy bolter->storm bolter or combat knife->chainsword->power sword dont really no what they would give as im not familiar with balancing games or creating them just some ideas

i thought about including guns, and decided against it, cause it doesnt make sense fluffwise, for melee heroes to get guns and not get a ranged attack, but theoretically, i could have a gun item, and have it give some form of phoenix fire...

he got ya there grass haha why would a patfinder use a force wep fluff wise :-P so you could prolly implement guns and give them an activatable ranged effect and do the same with melee weps they have their effects or you could give some of them something activateable

and if theres anyway u can show cd thtd be helpful haha like for termi armour u nvr know if its up or not XD

ranged heroes get melee weapons because all models have a close combat profile, but not all melee models have a ranged profile Razz thats right i win XD

and there might be a way to show the cd on termi armor... ill look into it

actually there are VERY few units in all of the tt who have no sort of ranged pofile lol even raptors have a bolt pistol so bleh Razz

and yes plz do tht on everything tht has a proc liek tht if u can

Heh, I thought some units, namely Path, had no melee profile.

Then again, I'm basing this off of DoW again, so I'm probably wrong.

Still, even if they have a melee profile, I have yet to see a Path stick around long enough to go melee. Razz

naw he is right all units have a ws and a str this is their mlee profile and of course attacks :-P but typically u avoid going melee with them haha
