Re: Dark Heresy
<_< The only thing that would stop us from doing a Dark Heresy (or Rogue Trader and Deathwatch) game really is getting everyone to be fair And activity of course. Work arounds could be thought of yea, like have the Game Master do everyones rolls (when the player would need to roll).
Oh, and zebio. There is a program somewhere that does tabletop online (minus all the models and stuff), but from what I hear it's a bitch find/work with and the new rules of tabletop are kinda hard to even do on it.

Re: Dark Heresy
If the GM did all the rolls ... there'd really be no reason for anyone to play. A character's fate is supposed to be completely his / her own. I'd be down for a RPG ... but, like Cell said, it's hard to tell if everyone would be honest with what they rolled.

Re: Dark Heresy
<_< A gm doing the rolls wouldn't be totally unfair to the players though if the GM isn't an asshole. It would be basically only like a couple more sentences said from a normal conversation in this.
Example:
GM: Are you sure you want to use your Flamer on the supposed heretic?
Player: Yes.
GM: Are you really sure? Cause I'm going to make dice be rolled to see the outcome.
Player: Yes.
GM: K, you rolled 3 (or whatever a bad roll would be). The heretic turned out to be a Daemonhost and you only burned off his flesh. He attempts to rape your mother. Do you want to roll to see if he succ-

Re: Dark Heresy
LoL. Yeah, but that relies on the GM's luck with the dice. Maybe the player's roll would be the deciding factor between victory and the party being wiped out.
And, from what I've read, you have to roll lower than your skill score (so to hit something with melee, say you have a WS 50- you have to roll a d100 and roll less than 50 to succeed). Or something like that. Didn't really read the rules for combat, just character creation.

Re: Dark Heresy
How awesome would it be to make a RP-style Dark Heresy map? Or even a Deathwatch one in the style of that?

Re: Dark Heresy
RP maps take way too much time and effort to make. RPG, maybe.
(RP being open world, RPG being linear story)

There are mapping programs and multiple dice generators that can be used on aim and such

Re: Dark Heresy
People still use AIM? xD
That said, the four of us could easily get a RPG game going, if we could get on all together.

Re: Dark Heresy
We could play like ... once a week, or once every two weeks. If we all have one night open, where we don't have anything else to do. I generally can't play on week nights because I work nights (Sun-Thurs, unless it's earlier than 10 CST).

Re: Dark Heresy
What's good for everyone? I could play every other Friday night, or every other Saturday night.. Or sometime in the afternoon, pretty much any day..
Oh, and who would GM? I can if no one else wants to.

<-
Not the making a map part, the actual Dar Heresy gaming part. <_< Oh, and no Deathwatch games. I'd rather not be in a group of all space marines.

My schedule is basically whenever I'm awake. I don't have a working car/someone to give me a ride to a job or school, so I'm free whenever.

Re: Dark Heresy
Well, I found a program we can use- GameTable. It's pretty cool. Lets you make a little map thing. It'll let the GM show character and enemy locations, debris, objects, et cetera.
Anyway, for available times...
Sunday (before 10 pm CST)
Monday (before 10 pm CST)
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Anything else I need to cross off for possible times?

Re: Dark Heresy
Dark heresy or Warhammer Fantasy roleplaying rpg is good. I have no clue what deathwatch is..Or rogue trader actually XD
Curious though, who will GM?
Also, the reason my last post sounded drunk was cause I was just feeling HORRIBLE.
And if we're feeling nerdy enough, we could do other games as well, dnd and the like should our eventful trek across the horrors of the 40k universe kill us after less then three dicerolls four games in a row

Re: Dark Heresy
Deathwatch and Rogue Trader are the other versions of 40k roleplaying stuff. Rogue Trader has a person play a Rogue Trader (Imperium merchants/explorders) captain, who captains the ship. The other players play the crew of said ship (Astropaths, engineers, etc.). Then you go out into the galaxy exploring and doing general Rogue Trader stuff.
Deathwatch is basically you play Space Marines in the Deathwatch, fighting the alien hordes and stuff.
