Got a Beta code ... and the game owns. Zerg are some dirty bastards. Nydus without creep? Moving while burrowed? Brood Lord (new Guardian) spawns units to attack with every shot? Dirty, dirty, dirty ... and fun as hell. I love spawning a Nydus Worm right in the middle of their workers and unloading a horde of Zerglings / Roaches (or Hydralisks, depending on how far into game), raping their economy, then dissapearing back into the Nydus Worm before they can reach me with their army. I've gotten people to ragequit in about 3 of my 10 matches. LoL

Protoss are pretty good. The Collossus rapes ground like no other, but can't hit air.

As for the code, both Amazon and Gamestop are giving them out with their preorders.

Yeah, from what I've seen they don't get jack for air, except maybe the Mothership / Carrier combo, which is pretty good but expensive as hell. But their Immortals and Collossus are damn near unstoppable if you're going up against just ground.

And you should be able to order online and still get it. Or use Amazon (I always use Amazon over Gamestop whenever possible).

yeap, i've never actually gone toss air cept when im messing around.
and surprisingly, i dont use templar that often.

imortals/collosus/stalkers/zealots seem to do fine every game.

altho to be fair im not a very good player >.>

I haven't seen anyone use High Templars in SC2 yet.. I've seen afew DTs, but not many.

I was horrible when I first joined the beta too, but you get used to it quick and developing new strategies is pretty easy. Plus, if you lose horribly, you can go to the Score Screen and see a second-by-second look at what each player did during the game. That helps you learn alot.

I didn't know there was beta's out Ill have to go pre-order and get one. I'm so pumped for it.

Zerg has always been my race and i was watching some battle reports the seem beast, except Terran looks unstoppable.

on the beta what does it allow you to do?
can you just do ladder games or can you play custom games and that stuff too?

Ranked/unranked melee matches. They released the editor and there is a "Join Custom Game" button, so I assume they'll let you play custom games if anyone bothers to make some.

you cant publish custom games to battle.net as of yet.

but yeah, theres just melee games atm, untill they allow custom games

i already have a very basic helms deep defense type map made that supports up to 6 players vs a computer enemy,

the spawning and attacking stuff is done, and next im gonna look into modifying heroes

Yeah, alot of the units they couldn't balance into the multiplayer will be in the campaign..

I ordered the regular edition for July 27th so I can play it on release, then I got the Collector's Edition coming on August 2nd.. As soon as my buddy gets his computer built, I'm selling the regular one to him..
