Story;
A long forgotten and powerfull Terminator from the era of the Horus Heresy, he took arms against Horus the Traitor. The outcome was obvious, but the relentless hammering of Undek-Hammer upon Horus' armour forced the traitor to let fly a psychic blast, sending Truelais Emperor-knows-where. Some say it was from this ecounter that the Emperor was able to defeat his son.
Truelais was thought dead. But his great frame was sighted up on a hill, observing a war between the forces of disorder and order. As such he charged down the hill roaring his defiance to Chaos and smashed into Kharn, the Betrayer, ensuring a bloody battle.

Stats:
STR based

STR:25+2.55
AGI:14 +0.72
INT: 23 +2.2

Innate; Undek-Hammer, the Ultimate Justice.

(Passive)

The Terminators great Power Hammer is now a great relic, dealing crushing damage to the most fortified of targets. Deals more damage the more armoured the unit is.
Gives +8/16/24/32/40 damage per level and deals damage based off the victims armour. Deals damage x3 of the units armour each attack.

Example: Attack an outpost with 10 armour; deals thirty bonus damage.

Skill One; Charge to Glory!
100 manacost, +25 per level 20 second cd.

(Active/buff)

Similar to the Grey Knights reckless charge, Truelais charges foreward, and rams all foes with his great shield, dealing damage to all foes that get in his way, and a knockback to foes in the way. Gains movespeed after the cast.

(Has a cast range of 400/525/650/775)

1, 125 damage, 50 knockback, 7% movespeed bonus that lasts 8 seconds.
2, 175 damage, 75 knockback, 9% movespeed bonus that lasts 9 seconds.
3, 225 damage, 100 knockback, 12% movespeed bonus that lasts 10 seconds and can be cast in tandem with 'Undek Smite' (so can be casted twice)
4, 250 damage, 125 knockback, 15% movespeed bonus that lasts 11 seconds and be cast in tandem with 'Undek Smite'

Skill Two; Undek Smite.
70 manacost, +30 per level 15 second cd.

(aoe nuke.)

Truelais plunges his Power Hammer into the earth, dealing damage, a ministun, and slowing affected units.

1, Deals 10% of his max hp in damage, 0.5 ministun, 8% slow for IAS and MS.
2, Deals 12% of his max hp in damage, 0.7 ministun, 9% slow for IAS and MS.
3, Deals 14% of max hp in damage, 0.9 ministun, 10% slow for IAS and MS, can be casted before or after 'Charge to Glory!' removing the cd for one of either spells once during the casting. (so can be casted twice)
4, Deals 16% of max hp in damage, 1 second stun, 11% slow for IAS and MS, slow can stack. Debuff lasts for 8 seconds, can be casted in tandem with 'Charge to Glory!'

Skill Three; Aura of a Legend.

(Passive Aura.)

Truelais' tale swept through the land like a storm, supposedly legend. Enemies in the aoe of this aura fear Truelais so much, they lose hp, but allies are in awe of this great being, gaining hp. (per second)

1, 0.3% of Truelais' max hp heal in an aoe and 0.4% max hp dealt in damage per second. 500 aoe.
2, 0.4% heal, 750 aoe, 0.5% damage. 850 aoe
3, 0.7% heal, 800 aoe, 0.7% damage. 1000 aoe
4, 1.2% heal, 900 aoe, 1% damage. 1350 aoe

Ultimate; Memories of the Heresy.

(Permanent strength gain, buff.)

200 mana cost all levels. 100 cd.

Truelais remembers this event so vividly, it seems it was only yesterday, making him fight as hard as he was while fighting Horus. Making the x# factor increase, bonus ms, and debuff immunity and a permanent strength gain.

1, +15 str. X# increases by 2, 15 bonus ms. Lasts for 10 seconds.
2, +20 str. X# increases by 3, 20 bonus ms. Lasts for 15 seconds.
3, +30 str. X# increases by 4, 25 bonus ms. Lasts for 20 seconds.

Note on passive: Should the damage factor be made off this heroes max hp, or kept as is?
Note on 'Tandem': Meaning that if the spell is in cooldown, it can be casted again. Eg: Cast Charge, chase over ten seconds, *Double smite smash*.

The Forgotten/The Resilient (Needs a suitable name) Empty Re: The Forgotten/The Resilient (Needs a suitable name)

Post by Glycine Fri Feb 05, 2010 2:44 pm

My comments are basically the same as the last time.

Innate: I like the fact that damage will scale with armor. He's an anti-fex in a way. But giving damage off the innate isn't a very interesting thing. Spice it up a tad.

Mana costs for both active skills are too low, especially for a hero with so much intelligence. Why does he have so much if he's a terminator? It's not like Horus rubbed off any psychic imprint on him. I'd expect Terminators to have high strength, low agility, and moderate base intelligence, with a gain in strength, armor, and agility. But that's just my two cents on it.

Charge: Your cast range is a bit large. That and I'm not fond of your tandem concept. It translates, at level 7, to a 660 damage combo, and following reduction will still be in upwards of 450 damage. Maybe it'll work, but we'll see.

Smite: STILL OP NOM NOM NOM. >> 16% of his max hp? Assuming he has ~3.5k health at end-game, that's a 1370 damage combo which is ridiculous no matter how you look at it. It used to be worse at 25% of his max health, but it's still bad. Try not to use health as a variable if you can avoid it. Because he's a strength hero, he's going to get a lot of health which what makes it so imbalanced.

Aura: No matter how you argue this one, I find it improbable that someone's aura, besides an Ork Warboss, can both give health regen and degen. Maybe if a hero's presence through arcane means affected the opponent (Cue Stern's Shrouding), it would work, but there's no fluff or anything remotely logical to create the shock and awe you want for Truelais. It may seem scathing, but that's because I've been going through all my codices. If he was a chaos terminator of nurgle, that would work quite well, but he's not that. Aside from that conceptual complaint, I believe the numbers on hp regen are limited to whole number integers due to unholy aura.

Memories: What in the world is the X factor? xD Just confused what it is. As for the outline of the skill, it looks fine.

I'm sorry if I seem critical, but I'm going to be that way from now on because we have way too many heroes and not enough other things we need in the game, at least until .46 comes out. And I'm still on hiatus, but felt you needed a response to your hero.

Blasphemy! Blasphemer! It was Sanguinius' duel with his brother that allowed the Emperor to crack Horus' Chaos-empowered armor and deal the killing blow. Rabble-Rabble-Rabble!

I do admit to dues, I twisted fluff. But note in the story 'Some say' means that it could have/couldnt have happened.

@ Gly; Ok lets get some things settled. His ultimate 'X' factor as in his innate; Deals damage "x3" of the units armour each attack. So ult; x5, x6, x7. Will prolly need a nerf for those higher armour based heroes. Late game 20 armour, x7, do the math, its alot of damage 'per attack' will be quite worth saying 'ouch' to.

Suggestions for aura: Battle Scars.
Blah blah blah, nasty scars from getting whacked by horus too much, enemies see the ghastly scars and lose moral(hp) per second. Lets remove the hp regen for allies eh?

Now, instead of having a charge, changing it to something like axe's call, a larger aoe though towards the terminator, dealing ministun damage and a disorient/slow once they reach the big guy.
Name it something like; 'Now we are close, let me smash you in the face with undek here.' (Im out of ideas for names)

I have an idea for a 'Custom Personal Teleporter' for Truelais, like he has this awesome gadget from the heresy that he made with help from techpriests to aid him during the war. So he blinks to location, but the momentum stays, giving him a decent cleave, but he is stunned once the effect wears off.

Let me know what you think of that wall of text gly Smile

Blood, unless you're Kharn, no wall of text can phase me. Razz

X factor will be nerfed a little, but I like it.

Axe's call sounds good, but I need to see it. xD

Teleporter would be interesting as well.

And instead of this whole HP degen thing, can't you just make his thunder hammer do damage in an AoE around the strike? ^^;
