suggestions for items
so basically, im in a desperate need for items that arent weapons... and i need caster items... so this would be a the thread for suggesting some items
try to aviod suggesting weapons, and try to suggest some caster items
make them 40k

I'll try to come up with some ideas of what some caster items could do, But, since I haven't read much 40k material, I don't think I'll be able to come up with adequate names for them.

Well i have noticed that you don"t have any items that give you +hp or +mana like a stat booster the only way to get xtra hp or mana is to buy a str and int item.
but about those caster items well i don't really got a good idea for those sorry :/ and i have don't know any Warhammer 40k names.
If i get any good item ideas ill be sure to tell you though

An item that temporarily negates all manacosts? (Though that could make some chars OPed)
An item that brings down all cooldowns to 0 every 3 min?
An item that makes all spells do more damage? (Or simply bring down the resistance of the spells' targets.)
Maybe a mana-steal per hit item?
An item that allows you to consume your mana to heal your HP?
I don't really know what else to add.

negates manacosts isnt *truely* possible, they'd still have to have the right amount of mana for the spell, but they would just get it all back after they cast.
same thing with cooldowns (ur basically suggesting a cooldown refresh right? cause that is possible)

Yeah, that's pretty much what I mean.
Also, maybe an item that gives a global buff (channeling) with 0.05-0.1 X int for duration?
An item that, on cast, reduces the opponent's Str or Agi by your int or int/2?
An item that allows you to tp a target back to their fountain at with a base casting time of 10 sec, reduced by 0.05-0.07 x int?

Well...you definately need to make the items alot more organized (I spent my first game just searching for items) although it partly is (but not enough I assure u)
and you need to space out the venders.
Also a secret vender would be nice as well. And perhaps, add some missions?

I suppose the items could be a little more organized but I never had that much trouble with finding them. Almost all of the weapons are sold by weapon vendors and the same is true for the armor. My suggestion would be to move all of the low level weapons to their own shop and do the same for armor and artifacts.
After we get rid of the major bugs, an item buying system where you just type the first part of the name of the item you want to buy is going to be added.
Spacing out the vendors is a good idea. You could group them according to the type of items they sell and put them in sequence according to how powerful the items sold by each vendor are.
OT- Missions sound like a good idea in the far future but right now there are just too many other things that have to be done.

well, there organized like this:
to the left: highest level weapons (tier 3/4) then normal weapons, orginized in their trees (choopa items are all in a column etc.) then armor(again orginized by trees, cept i need another set of armor to make them in columns), then misc
then basic misc, basic combat, basic stat, consumable (again, organized in trees where aplicable)

Maybe balanced stat armor for your last kind? Gives a smaller buff to all stats and maybe some sort of effect?

maybe make a item that give int and mana regeneration but when you click it it gives you like 500 mana

500 mana would be way too much unless the cooldown was very long but I'd definitely like to see an item like this.
-edit some ideas for items I've come up with. I'll add more to this list when I think of them.
- an item that makes units in an aoe around the item holder take extra damage from magic attacks
- an item that can ghost the target making them non-attackable but take a lot of extra damage from magic
- an item that gives brilliance aura and increases the intelligence of nearby, allied heroes
- an upgradeable weapon that gives you a bonus to intel, damage, and mana regen that can also cast an aoe nuke of some sort
buy the recipe again to upgrade the nuke
-an item that gives bonus life regen and armor to units around the holder that can also cast some form of aoe healing spell
-a high level item that gives 200 bonus hp, 300 mana, 3hp regen a seconds and 100-200% mana regen.
-high level weapon 1
+25 damage, +10 intel
causes 15% of the heroes attack to knock back and stun the target dealing 20-40 (I mean a random amount of damage here) bonus damage
- high level armor 1
+10 intel, +5-10 armor,
options: mana bonus, mana regen, hp regen
randomly knocks back melee units that hit you
- high level armor 2
+10 intel, + 5-10 armor
options: mana bonus, mana regen, hp regen
randomly shocks units around the hero with a psy blast damaging, slowing and breifly stunning them
-high level armor 3
+10 intel,+ 5-10 armor
options: mana bonus, mana regen, hp regen
the closer units get to you the more damage a second they take

How about an Item
Void Rip
works something like combat drugs with random effects. Opens the the hero to the void looking to focus it to destroy all opposition.
% restore hp and mp
%mp restore
% cool down refresh
% chance to improve int by 5
% chance to reduce int by 3 (give more than take i think)
% to bring a void demon who attacks any unit friend or foe of caster
Or even to get really crazy an effect such as possession of void demons giving a crazy passive ability but with some kind of serious crash when it ends.
Ex. Void soul 30% life steal 20% damage increase for 20 sec
after effect: soul withdraw -70% move speed and takes 35% more damage for 10sec

I think typical aos games dont give much risk/payoff everyone wants safe but that does not keep to 40k game play it is all about taking risk. This game should be different.

and im liking wanderes obsession with knockback but i like the concepts, and if someone gets me some more concrete thoughts down, i might add some

Like I said before, I don't know much 40k lore; so, I'm not good with coming up with names and descriptions for the items.
Ok, To play on the random effects some more, here are some more ideas.
Chaos Shield (I got this idea from another game; I admit it )
Gives a 10 % (more if you buy upgrades) chance to have a random effect on an attacker.
Melee attacker effects:
attacker knocked backed about 100-200 distance and stunned for 1 second (I know, I know I love knockback)
attacker catches fire taking 25 damage a second and missing 50% of attacks
attacker takes 100-200 damage
attacker becomes infected with a plague that spreads to other units becoming slowed by 15% and taking 25 damage per second
attacker is crippled 10-15% ms 50% as for 3 seconds
Ranged attacker effects:
attacker stunned for 1-3 seconds
attacker pollymorphed for 1-3 seconds
attacker becomes blinded missing 50% of attacks
the attackers damage is blocked and reflected back at them
attacker is teliported next to who he's attacking
Sword of Chaos (high level weapon)
+20 damage + 5 all stats
gives a 15% chance for the target to get one of the following effects:

I'm just throwing out every random item idea that comes to mind. So, I'm just curious, Why not? Are they overpowerd, too boring, or just out of place in 40k?

Here's another one:
Acc:
+10 int
+10 Str
active ability that switches the target's int and Str for 10-15 sec.

+15 int
+100 mana
+100% mana regen (from the obligartory Spirit Stone requirement, like every int recipe ever.)
Active skill: Near unlimited or unlimited mana for a short period of time (think the mana rune, or just plain unlimited mana, but shorter effect.).
Int weapon:
+25 damage
+30 int
+50 mana per creep kill, 200 per hero kill.
Acc:
+10 int
+10 Str

So wandering the forum i saw someone say something about power fist, or power claw all the same. Anyway...
Power Fist
Increases attack damage by 50% reduces attack speed by 20%
orig attack 100
over 10 attacks that is 1,000
With Power fist
same amount of time you would attack 8 times now but do 150 each
over the 8 the total is now 1200
Maybe this is not worth it enough. I started this idea for a hero like a catachen sniper more damage per hit fewer hits.

@wanderer: no reason really, but it just dosent seem to fit with me, im sure there will be other ppl who love it... but im not feeling it XD
@billiam: yeah, i was gona add a powerfist, but i was thinking that it would have a crit instaed of major damage (all powerfist skills currently in the game critical)

EDIT:
Ugh... you want to add a crit item? Please, please don't. Or if by crit item, please tell me you mean chance of X bonus damage, and not X times attack damage.
