regarding custom content
so, the map is currently 6.9(lol)mbs big... and were quickyl approching the limit, so i need your help and the communities vote on what should be removed or replaced.
ill make a list of how much space each section of imports is taking up (models/skins/icons/sounds) and then make a list of what models are larger than 100kbs, so we can vote which ones we should keep or replace or remove.
models: 5017
skins: 3020
icons: ~2434kb*
sounds: 470
*i didnt add up the disabled buttons, just took active+passive x2
so, obviously models take up about half the map size.
so a list of models that are larger than 100kbs:
Celestine: 172
Carnifex: 228
Arhiman: 184
Chaplain: 194
Commissar: 239
commissar portrait: 192
dreadnaught: 221
autarch: 312
force commander: 172
grot: 123
grey knight: 196

I think commisar portrait, grot, and squig to start. Maybe even go so far as chaplain, since he doesnt get played very much(as far as I have seen)

well, if someone could learn how to merge the portrait and the model itself, then that could work.
or, i could just delete the portrait and then you would be stuck with whatever crappyness wc3 gives you.

Our goal should be to cut all models to below 150, if possible.
My opinions:
Anything I don't comment on is a must.
Celestine is hard to replace, so keep her or use this one. It's about the same size, but cooler.
Carnifex is a must.
Ahriman can be changed, but he's quite small still.
Autarch, now Prince Yriel is too big. Try This. It looks quite nice.
I'd really like a smaller space marine melee model, but that won't happen.

guys i find its better to keep models as they are unless its a nessarcey thing to add more useful data if not then try not to worry about model size only the polys. in my opinion the model that works best for the hero, is the best one to use if theres a better looking model thats less polys and size give it a shot some times changieng a model just to lower size can be a well disappointment to the players if they liked the older model

yes, well... the map is at 6.9mb, and its larger than 8mb uncompressed... so we cant keep adding custom models or the map will get too big.
now if we knew someone that could edit the models and cut some pollys... because all of Pyramidhead's models... well he doesnt care about poly count so it seems
edit: also, gly... elven spearman doesnt work too well... its based off the same model as typhus, and its large and clumsy... and it was the base of the old aun'va model... and really... its just sub par almost XD

i would love to keep all the custom models for our heroes that work good. its just that with the limit of the map comming up close, it will be very very hard to find room for models for those heroes that *need* them, when we could be using sutible wc3 models for heroes that dont *need* custom models.
