Question
Would anyone be interested in a forum war game set during the Horus Heresy? Each person would take control of a Legion, either Traitor or Loyalist..

Re: Question
I would as well. We will need moderators, however, if this is going to work.
Are we talking war games as a commander, sending out forces to capture, fight, divert, etc, etc, or individualized war games where we lead a squad that does whatever?
I call Night Lords, by the way.

Re: Question
I would. How would it go about though? Would it be a RP sort of game or something that would be like Risk or something.

Re: Question
You can't call the World Eaters!
Because I've already went back in time and warped everyone's mind to convince them that I am NO, I CALLED THE WORLD EATERS DAMMIT!

Re: Question
You'd each take on the role of the Primarch - you command your ground forces, the fleet, et cetera.. Worlds will bring in income (depending on type of worlds controlled), used to produce more of vehicles (ground, air and space), defenses (planetary or fortresses), and/or monastaries (which will allow Space Marine recruitment on non-Homeworld planets).. Support forces (Imperial Army for Loyalists, Cultists and Daemons for Chaos) can be recruited on conquered planets, but Space Marines can only be recruited on planets with one of your Legion's monastary (one monastary per planet).. Each Legion has its own "Specialty", as in an area of warfare where it excells - for example siege warfare or heavy assault.. You'd also command the battles (I'll provide maps of the battle field, featuring buildings, terrain, your troop placements and known enemy placements).. Normal play, including income, would take place in turns - 1 real time week = one in-game month or so.. Battles would "Pause" the game and go in rounds.. For example in a 1v1, Player A and B issue orders, then get the consequences of their orders, then issue new orders and so on until one side surrenders, retreats, or is destroyed..

Re: Question
Was hoping to get enough people to atleast fill out 3-4 spots on each team.. If not, I'll try to recruit from other boards that I know.. Most of my other friends aren't into Wh40k though, so figured I'd start here..

Re: Question
You know, if you're going to start some sort of RP, you should check out http://s1.zetaboards.com/sofe/site Its a place I've been a big shot at for quite a while, has a lot of experienced and very talented roleplayers, some of which are looking for some sort of sci-fi based RP. I had attempted to start a Warhammer one, had a lot of interest from other members, but it just didn't take off. We'd probably welcome more members gladly, and there are other Rp's to check on there too.
Just a thought.

Re: Question
I have a lovely Roleplaying forum I frequent as well. It just so happens to be in the midst of a writing contest and Roleplaying storm, though, so no linkies for ya'll.

Re: Question
Okay, so I asked some people on acouple of the other forums I'm on, and none of them are interested. So, instead of the full Horus Heresy ... I'm going to shrink it down. It'll be a fight for a single planet, which'll work well as a 2v2. Vote for the two factions you'd like to see face off..
Chaos SM: I
Space Marines:
Dark Eldar:

Orks: I
Imperial Guard:
Adeptus Sororitas:
Tyranids: II

Re: Question
To get around Exterminatus in a Chaos vs Tyranid fight - planet is cut off by Warp Storms..

Re: Question
Or it merely serves as an exceptionally important world, one of which, needs to be liberated, not destroyed. More likely an answer, seeing as how many holy sites there are scattered around the universe, and how unlikely a warp storm would be.

Re: Question
But an important world wouldn't be a Chaos vs Tyranid fight for very long.. It'd be Chaos vs Tyranid vs Imperial Guard / acouple SM chapters..

Re: Question
You said 2v2, so naturally I assumed you'd be doing something like that. If it was just Tyranid Vs Chaos it could just be some completely backwater planet.
