yeah, which requires an individual item for every hero with an upgradable skill (because the item would have to have the engineering upgrade skill, which i would have to make on of those skills for every hero)

I have a question, why not get a vendor that you can buy some units from, like mercs? (Just a thought)

hireables currently do this. cept they arent player owned, they come under the controll of their computer palyer

you could make it that when you buy units, they begin to spawn with creeps continuously. It could add a new level players have to watch for, for they could have sweet heros but over run with other teams creeps.

well, currently hireables arent that expensive (unless uve got alot of honor, but then their very powerful... and pretty much own creep waves)
i might toy with the idea of adding a perminent creep spawn... but it would have to cost alot... considering the huge effect it would have on the creep waves

But... DoTA has just one item to upgrade the ultimate of like 12 heroes...

no,dota has one *base* item, thers an individual aghinams for every hero that it upgrades, and if a hero can use it, it gets switched out for teh correct one, meaning there are like 40 diff versions of aghinams, and 40 diff engeneering upgrade skills, and alot of code work that 1. i really dont want to do, and 2. isnt entirely nessecary

Question can you have consumable items activated... i know this seems dumb i know you can to an extent. But my idea is what about a consumable poison attack item. like 30 charges for 600 gold (25 dps for 3 sec). i know it can be done for every attack but could it be made so that you chose when it hits. I think it would add even more harassment early game and a good item if you have an open slot mid game.

Here's an idea:
Long Range Scanner (Okay, I know the last time I suggested this, as a skill, it wasn't good, but I kind of like the concept and think it could work well as an item.):
An item which has no effect, but just one very potent active skill. This active skill would allow you to call in Field Command and reveal a 600-800 area around the point clicked, giving vision of that area for 10 seconds (Eat that Necron Lord!), as well as true sight in that area. Also, if a hero is in the revealed area, it aids other heroes in tracking him, thereby giving any allies within a 1200 range a 20% MS bonus and 10% IAS bonus.

sounds cool could be an upgrade to the auspex, or a prereq for the auspex...

Ah, here's the other one I was thinking of:
A very expensive mini-waygate. Can be built in lanes and base only (AKA no waygating to the runes), and allows quick travel for yourself and allies between any allied waygates. They would be invisible but not invincible. This would allow quick reinforcement of gates, but be killable, and thus a very costly investment, especially since you'd need at least 2 for them to pay off, but can also be very useful for ganking, pushing/defending lanes, or just plain movement.
I was thinking around 2000-4000 each.

hmm.. i like this idea... but im planning on adding some sort of quick travel method from base to outposts... so this might prove to be useless... we'll see

I have been dreaming about a cleaving item in 40k aos so:

Beserker Glaive
The Berserker Glaive is a weapon that the bearer must constantly fight with to remain in control of. The blade contains the bound essence of a Bloodletter which has been driven truly insane by its captivity.
Requires:
2500g 3 honour.
Emperors tears, ^Mark of chaos acendant/Mark of Khorne, Close combat weapon.
Gives 60/50% cleave <-- yay, 15 to all stats (or 25 str,10 int, 10 agi:varies base, Eg. 25 int 10,10 etc.) 65 damage.
Passive ability: Curse of the Glaive.
Gains 5% cleave, hp regen, ms, ias and damage per 5 seconds in combat, but loses the same amount while not in combat for each fifteen seconds. When the wearer has reached 30 seconds in combat, they gain a 18% lifesteal aura. (Maybe once the wearer has reached 1 min out of combat gains a passive aura that gives a hp/mana degen to all units.)
